If you no longer wish to continue to practise as a public accountant, you may apply to cancel your registration.
Requirements for Cancellation
You may apply to cancel your registration as a public accountant to be cancelled anytime of the year provided that:
- ACRA has not received any complaint or information against you under the Accountants Act or
- There are no pending disciplinary proceedings against you.

Who Can Make the Application
The public accountant or registered filing agents (acting on behalf of the public accountant) may submit the application to cancel the registration as a public accountant.
How to Make the Application
The public accountant may do so himself, or engage the services of a registered filing agent (e.g. law firm, accounting firm or corporate secretarial firm) to assist in his submission.

Step 1: Log on to Bizfile | For Individuals Log on to Bizfile to submit the online transaction. Under the menu bar, navigate to "Deregister" > "Public accountant" > "Deregister as a public accountant". You will be directed to file a General lodgement. Under the general lodgement type. select "Cancel registration as a public accountant" under the header "Public accountant and accounting entity". For Registered Filing Agents (acting on behalf of public accountants) Engage the services of a registered filing agent (e,g. law firm, accounting firm or corporate secretarial firm). |
Step 2: Submit | Download, complete, and submit the manual form in the online General lodgement transaction. No payment is required. |
